Old Redford Academy is hiring a Sideline Cheer Assistant Coach for the Fall 2026 sports season!

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Fall 2026 Sideline Cheer Assistant Coach who will support our cheerleading team in fostering school spirit and leading cheer activities at sporting events.


Job Description

The Fall 2026 Sideline Cheer Assistant Coach will be responsible for assisting the head coach in preparing and executing cheer practices and performances. This role involves working with a diverse group of student-athletes to develop their cheerleading skills and ensure they represent the school positively at various events.


Key Responsibilities

- Assist in planning and leading cheer practices alongside the Head Coach.

- Support the development and execution of cheer routines and sideline chants.

- Teach and refine cheer techniques, stunts, and choreography.

- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all team members.

- Monitor student-athletes' performance and progress, offering constructive feedback.

- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to develop game day strategies.

- Attend all scheduled practices, games, and events.

- Help maintain inventory of cheerleading equipment and supplies.

- Uphold the school's values and contribute to the overall athletic program's success.


Qualifications

- Previous experience in cheerleading or as a cheer coach is preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

- Knowledge of cheerleading techniques and safety practices.

- Positive attitude and the ability to motivate and inspire team members.

- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
