Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Foreign Language Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching a foreign language, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting cultural understanding among students. This position requires effective communication skills, creativity in lesson planning, and a commitment to student growth and success.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.

• Incorporate cultural activities and resources to enhance language learning and promote an appreciation of different cultures.

• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.

• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.

• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.

• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students

• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff

• Regular and predictable attendance

Cognitive Demands:

• Supervision of multiple students at once

• Establishing routines and procedures

• Maintaining a safe and orderly environment

• Create and implement instructional plans

• Participate in continuous professional development

• Effective oral and written communication skills

Physical Demands:

• Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25lbs

• Stand and walk frequently

• Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat

• Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year

• Withstand a moderate noise level

• Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary

• Assist/lift students, as necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, Foreign Language, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

• Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject. 

• Proficiency in a Foreign Language and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
