Job Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated School Social Workers to join our team. The School Social Worker will provide comprehensive social work services to students, families, and staff in a school setting. They will work collaboratively with school personnel to identify and address social, emotional, and behavioral issues that impact student success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, a deep understanding of child development, and a passion for supporting the social, emotional, and academic success of students. 

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Provide direct services to students, such as counseling, crisis intervention, and group work

  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs

  • Collaborate with school personnel to develop and implement programs that promote a positive school climate and student success

  • Consult with teachers, parents, and community agencies to address student needs and concerns

  • Provide support and education to families on a variety of issues, including parenting skills, communication, and community resources

  • Monitor and maintain accurate and timely records of services provided and student progress

  • Participate in school-based teams and committees to address student needs and promote school-wide initiatives

  • Stay current on best practices and trends in school social work and related fields

  • Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all students

  • Maintaining effective communication with students, parents, and school staff

  • Regular and predictable attendance

Cognitive Demands:

  • Establishing routines and procedures

  • Maintaining a safe and orderly environment

  • Create and implement assessment and intervention plans

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25lbs

  • Stand and walk frequently

  • Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat

  • Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year

  • Withstand a moderate noise level

  • Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary

  • Assist/lift students, as necessary

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program

  • Valid state licensure as a school social worker

  • Temporary or full approval as a social worker

  • Experience working with children and families in a school setting

  • Knowledge of social, emotional, and behavioral issues that impact student success

  • Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, families, and community agencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
