Light of the World Academy is hiring a MTSS Teacher and Coordinator. Michigan Teacher certification is required. 

Light of the World Academy is a Montessori K-8 Public Charter School Located in Pinckney, Michigan. At LOTWA, we provide a Montessori education that follows the child’s individual growth intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically by creating multi-age grouped classrooms that celebrate the learning process through independence, discovery, and exploration and provide a safe, peaceful, and respectful community that is grounded in service both locally and globally.

Responsibilities:

1. Deliver high-quality instruction and interventions aligned with LOTWA's MTSS program addressing the academic needs of the student.

2. Work with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrators to create and ensure appropriate academic interventions for struggling students.

3. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, adjust interventions, and guide instructional decisions. Facilitate data reviews and oversee placement of students into appropriate Tier 2/Tier 3 Interventions.

4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, interventions, and outcomes for MTSS meetings.

5. Collaborate with and educate families to ensure effective communication and involve them in the intervention process. 

6. Participate in ongoing training related to MTSS best practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. 
• Michigan Teacher certification. 
• Reading Specialist endorsement, special education, or area related to academic intervention preferred, but not required.
• Strong knowledge base in scientifically based reading research, best practices, and instructional techniques.
