Job Purpose

The Operations Manager will serve as a key leader in ensuring the seamless execution of Fortis Group LLC’s armed security operations, logistics, and administrative processes. This role is critical for optimizing operational efficiency, maintaining equipment readiness, supervising armed personnel, and supporting executive leadership. The ideal candidate is a proactive and highly organized professional with expertise in logistics, procurement, team management, and security operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Assist in day-to-day administrative functions, including documentation, reporting, and supporting leadership directives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Support HR processes such as onboard training, scheduling, and performance evaluations for security personnel.

Logistics and Equipment Management

  • Oversee the procurement, distribution, and maintenance of all equipment and uniforms, ensuring all security staff are properly outfitted and equipped.
  • Assist with forecasting company needs and areas to eliminate costs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely replacement or repair of essential equipment.
  • Coordinate logistics for security operations, special events, and deployments, including transportation and site preparation.

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise all armed security operations, ensuring staff compliance with company standards, equipment requirements, and legal regulations.
  • Conduct and prepare operation plans, pre and post operation briefings to align team members with objectives and protocols.
  • Act as the point of contact for security accounts, events and details, addressing challenges and providing solutions.
  • Conduct routine inspections of operational procedures to ensure alignment with best practices.

Leadership and Supervision

  • Provide direct supervision and mentorship to armed security personnel, fostering a culture of professionalism and accountability.
  • Assist with assigning security staff to events and operational details, ensuring optimal team utilization.
  • Assist in handling conflict resolution, employee grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate training sessions and professional development for security teams.

Collaboration with Leadership

  • Work closely with the CEO and COO to implement strategic initiatives and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on operational performance, challenges, and recommendations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associates required in Security Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Law Enforcement, security operations, logistics, or a similar leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing armed security personnel and overseeing large-scale events or details.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Expertise in logistics, equipment procurement, and maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with security management software.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to armed security operations.

Working Conditions

  • Primary work environment is an office setting, with frequent travel to operational sites, events, and client locations.
  • Must be available to respond to emergencies and operational needs outside of standard working hours.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing or walking, particularly during site visits and event oversight.
  • Capability to perform in high-stress environments, including emergency response scenarios.
