CS Partners is an educational service provider in Michigan serving over 22 schools across Michigan. We provide central office and back office support for districts across the state. The Director of School Leadership (DSL) is responsible for overseeing operations and performance of several public school academies. The DSL will intentionally build positive relationships with the academy’s board, authorizer and leadership. They are responsible for visiting the academies on a regular basis and coordinating regular communication and meetings with School Leadership. They act as liaison between the academy board of directors, school leadership, and CS Partners. Additionally, the Director of School Leadership is a member of the School Performance Team (SPT) which supports all CS Partners academies towards successful implementation of the 6 Indicators of Excellence which are present in all high-performing schools. The SPT works with each academy’s unique mission, vision and educational program to help them become a high-quality choice for students and families.
Directors of School Leadership will also be responsible for developing and evaluating plans for high performance with the School Leader and setting leader goals for the upcoming year tied to those plans. They will work with the School Leader to develop a number of goals and objectives for the Academy, including enrollment targets, student and teacher retention goals, student achievement goals, budget and compliance goals, and facility expansion and development plans. The Director of School Leadership will meet with the School Leader throughout the course of the year to discuss the progress towards the goals set for the academy and determine the efficacy of the leader towards guiding the academy to those goals.
Education & Experience Expected
- School Administrator Certificate
- Masters degree in Education (minimum), Doctoral degree (preferred)
- 4-6 years teaching experience
- 5+ years experience in school administration, with at least 3 years experience as the primary school leader
- Preferred background or experience in Special Education
- Preferred rural, suburban, and urban educational experiences
- Demonstrated ability to increase academic outcomes
- Previous charter school experience
- Positive relationships with authorizing entities in Michigan
- Extremely knowledgeable regarding charter school authorization
- Demonstrated ability to develop leaders
Travel Requirements
All of the CS Partners schools are located in Michigan and this position requires travel to multiple schools on a weekly basis, however due to the location of the schools no overnight travel is required. We are primarily looking for individuals willing and able to travel to the middle and west regions of Michigan such as the Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Bay City areas.
