ELA Interventionist

Old Redford Academy is hiring a part time Academic Interventionist for ELA. Must have a Michigan Teacher Certification with endorsement. Position is immediate!

We are looking to hire an Academic Interventionist to work with teachers in our ELA department and other faculty members to identify children who may be at risk of falling behind in their academic studies. The ELA interventionist's responsibilities include monitoring students' performance in the classroom, reviewing their homework assignments or assessing their average test scores.

Responsibilities: 

  • Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals and implementation of personal learning plans of students by adapting materials and methods to the learning styles and abilities of students.

  • Collaborate with the assigned classroom teacher for instructional planning and delivery.

  • Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular teacher.

  • Work with students in order to improve their knowledge and increase math test scores. 

  • Spend time in classrooms and with individual students to guide them through lessons.

  • Analyze student achievement data and develop interventions.

  • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in teaching or relevant field.

  • Michigan Teaching Certification with ELA endorsement. 

  • In-depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
