Richfield Public School Academy, a charter school in Flint, MI, is hiring Part Time Student Lunch Monitors. 

$18/ Hour. From 10:45 A.M.- 1:00 P.M. 2.5 hours per day.

Job Summary

The Part-Time Student Lunch Monitors are responsible for supervising students during lunch and ensuring a safe, positive, and orderly environment. This position monitors student behavior, supports appropriate interactions, and assists with smooth transitions during the lunch period while working collaboratively with school staff to support student safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

• Supervise students during lunch and ensure a safe and orderly environment.

• Monitor student behavior and reinforce school expectations and rules.

• Assist students with questions or needs during the lunch period.

• Address minor student conflicts and behavioral concerns appropriately.

• Report significant behavioral, safety, or student concerns to appropriate school staff.

• Assist with maintaining a clean and organized lunch area.

• Monitor student movement and transitions to and from the lunchroom.

• Follow school safety procedures and emergency protocols.

• Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality when working with students.

• Work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to safety or behavioral concerns.

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students and staff.

• Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment in various situations.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to move throughout the lunchroom and school environment.

• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, or lift classroom/lunchroom materials.

• Ability to respond quickly to student and safety needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred.

• Ability to effectively supervise and interact with students.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Dependable, patient, and professional.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
