George Washington Carver Academy is hiring a Technology Teacher. Must have Michigan Teacher Certification and endorsement.

We are seeking a passionate Technology Teacher to inspire students and build essential digital skills. The ideal candidate will create engaging lessons that foster technology proficiency, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration while maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment.

Essential Duties & Requirements:

• Develop and deliver technology-focused lessons aligned with curriculum standards.

• Teach digital literacy, typing, coding, robotics, online safety, and media literacy.

• Assess student learning and monitor progress.

• Collaborate with staff and participate in professional development, meetings, and school events.

• Maintain classroom technology, resources, and a safe, positive learning environment.

• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.

• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

• Supervise students and establish effective classroom routines and procedures.

• Demonstrate strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills.

• Frequently stand and walk; occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs., bend, squat, or sit on the floor.

• Be able to assist students as needed and perform first aid/CPR when necessary.

• Work effectively in varying weather and moderate noise conditions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Educational Technology, Education, or a related field.

• Valid Michigan teaching certification/license with the appropriate subject endorsement.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

• Excellent organization and attention to detail.

• Knowledge of current educational technology, software, and instructional strategies.
